The AIM is the information model used to operate and maintain the building after handover: asset registers, equipment data, maintenance schedules, warranties, and as-built models. If the PIM answers "how do we build it?", the AIM answers "how do we run it?" - and COBie is one of the common vehicles for moving data from one to the other.
