Autodesk's suite of cloud APIs - formerly branded Forge, renamed Autodesk Platform Services - that lets developers build custom applications on top of BIM data without needing Revit installed: viewing models in a browser, automating model checks, extracting data at scale, or connecting a project's BIM data into a company's own internal software.

Where Dynamo automates inside one open Revit session, APS operates at a platform level - server-side, cloud-hosted, capable of processing many projects' models without a person sitting at a desktop. It is the layer that custom, in-house BIM tooling and larger construction-tech products are typically built on.
