The international standard for managing information over the whole life cycle of a built asset using BIM. ISO 19650 defines the principles and requirements for:

  • How information should be produced and delivered
  • The CDE workflow (WIP → Shared → Published → Archive)
  • Naming conventions and metadata
  • Roles and responsibilities (Appointing Party, Lead Appointed Party, Appointed Party)

ISO 19650 is now the global reference standard for BIM, replacing earlier national standards like the UK's PAS 1192 series.
