Revit's setting controlling how thick or thin each category of line prints and displays, at each view scale - part of an office's Object Styles and graphic standards. A wall's cut line needs to read heavier than a hidden line behind it at every scale a drawing might print at - line weights are what make that graphic hierarchy consistent across a whole set of sheets instead of being adjusted view by view.
