Practical Completion is the UK contractual milestone where the works are complete enough for the client to take possession and start using the building, even though minor defects remain - it's the trigger that starts the Defects Liability Period and releases the first portion of Retention. It's the UK-contract equivalent of the US term Substantial Completion.
