An open data standard for representing and exchanging 3D city and landscape models, at a coarser level of detail than a building-scale IFC model. Where IFC models a single building in rich detail, CityGML models an entire city more shallowly - the two meet in GIS-BIM integration work, each covering the scale the other doesn't.
