Once a surface is divided, an adaptive component family can be loaded onto it and repeated across every grid node automatically - a panelized facade of hundreds of subtly different double-curved panels is a classic use case. Grid spacing, rotation, and pattern type (rectangular, triangular, diagrid) are all adjustable after the fact without re-dividing the surface from scratch.
