ISO 21597, known as ICDD, standardizes how to package a set of linked resources - IFC models, spreadsheets, PDFs, point clouds - from different authoring tools into one container with the relationships between them preserved. It targets a case a single IFC file can't solve: a federated deliverable made of documents that were never meant to merge into one model.
