Master data is what keeps a room number or asset tag consistent across the BIM model, the CDE, the FM system, and every schedule derived from them. Without a clear master data source, the same asset ends up with three slightly different IDs in three different places - exactly the inconsistency a single source of truth is meant to prevent.
