Autodesk's own solution for extending worksharing across multiple physical office locations without everyone connecting to the same local network. Instead of a single central model sitting on one office's server, Revit Server hosts the central model and lets each office's local Revit Server instance keep a synchronized copy, so a team in one city and a team in another can work on the same project through their own local, fast connection.

It has been increasingly overtaken by cloud worksharing (Autodesk Construction Cloud), which does the same job without dedicated server hardware in every office, but Revit Server is still common in larger firms with an existing IT infrastructure investment.
