Automatically checking a model or a specific data drop against a defined set of rules before it's accepted into the project's information. Instead of a human manually checking that every door in a submission has a fire-rating parameter filled in, a validation tool applies an IDS ruleset (or a similar checker) automatically, rejecting or flagging any element that doesn't meet the agreed information requirements before it ever reaches the shared model.
