A special Revit view type that displays sample model elements and their symbols for documentation purposes, without belonging to a real location in the project. A Legend view can be placed on multiple sheets at once (unlike almost any other view type), which makes it the standard way to build a door/window schedule key, a wall-type legend, or a symbols key that needs to repeat identically across a whole drawing set.
