Navisworks aggregates models (Revit, IFC, DWG, and more) into a single lightweight federated view, runs clash detection, drives 4D construction sequencing, and manages coordination issues, often exchanged as BCF files with the design team.

It is not a modeling tool - nothing gets designed in Navisworks - it is where coordination and construction planning happen once the discipline models exist. On many contractor-led projects, Navisworks (or a competitor like Solibri) is where the "real" coordination meeting actually happens.
