The ISO 19650 status codes (S0-S7) marking exactly what a piece of information is fit for - coordination, review, or construction - as it moves through a CDE. A model or drawing marked S2 ("suitable for information") is very different from one marked A2 ("authorized for construction") - suitability codes make that distinction explicit and machine-readable instead of relying on a filename or an email saying so. They're what actually moves a piece of information between a CDE's WIP, Shared, and Published states.
