The traditional procurement route where a client's design team completes the design first, contractors then bid competitively on it, and a separate contractor executes construction. Because the design and construction teams are separate organizations under Design-Bid-Build, model handover between them has to be explicit and well-documented (clear EIR/BEP requirements matter more here) rather than assumed - unlike Design and Build, where design and construction responsibility already sit inside one contract.
