The project team's response to the EIR. The BEP is written by the lead designer or BIM manager and explains how the team will deliver the information the client has asked for.

There are two types:

• Pre-contract BEP - written before the contract is signed, as part of the bid. It shows the client that the team understands the BIM requirements and has a plan.
• Post-contract BEP - the live, detailed document used throughout the project. It covers roles, responsibilities, software, naming conventions, milestone deliverables, and CDE workflows.

Every serious BIM project runs on a BEP.
