A framework (originally from BSRIA in the UK) for closing the gap between how a building was designed to perform and how it actually performs once people move in. Soft Landings keeps the design and construction team involved for a period after handover - typically a year or more - to fine-tune systems, answer the operator's questions, and compare real performance data against the original design intent.

It pairs naturally with BIM: the AIM and COBie data produced during the project become the baseline the Soft Landings team measures against, and lessons learned feed back into the next project's EIR.
