The international standard for asset management systems - governing how organizations plan, operate, and maintain physical assets over their whole lifecycle, independent of any specific BIM standard. Where ISO 19650 governs how information is managed during design and construction, ISO 55000 governs the much longer asset-management phase that follows - aligning budgets, risk, and performance targets across an entire portfolio of buildings, not just a single project. A well-structured Asset Information Model (AIM) handed over at the end of a project is what lets an ISO 55000-compliant organization actually use that data operationally.
